Consumer Unit Upgrade in West Sussex

The Brief

An older property in West Sussex still had an ageing fuse board with limited protection that no longer met the current wiring regulations. The owner wanted it brought up to standard, both for safety and ahead of an EICR.

What We Did

Our work included:

• Tested the existing installation: Checked the wiring first to make sure it was sound before starting any replacement work.
• Replaced the old board: Removed the ageing fuse board and fitted a modern consumer unit in its place.
• Fitted individual RCBO protection: Gave each circuit its own RCBO so a fault on one circuit only trips that circuit rather than the whole property.
• Labelled everything clearly: Marked up every circuit so it is easy to identify at the board.
• Tested all circuits: Carried out full testing across the installation to confirm everything was safe and working correctly.
• Issued the certificate: Provided the electrical certificate on completion.

The Result

Every circuit is now individually protected, the installation meets the current regulations, and the property is ready for its EICR or sale.
