The Brief

A Worthing homeowner had bought a new electric vehicle and wanted a proper home charge point rather than trickle-charging from a socket. They wanted it neat, in a sensible spot near the parking space, and set up to charge cheaply overnight.

What We Did

Our work included:

• Surveyed the supply: Checked the incoming supply and the consumer unit, and confirmed the board could take the extra load of a dedicated charger circuit.
• Agreed the position and route: Worked out the neatest spot for the charger near the parking space and planned a tidy cable route so nothing was left on show.
• Fitted an Ohme charger: Installed the Ohme charge point on its own dedicated circuit with its own isolation and protection. Ohme and Hypervolt are among the best for all energy providers.
• Tested the installation: Fully tested the new circuit and charger to confirm everything was safe and working correctly.
• Showed the customer the settings: Walked the customer through scheduling their charging around their energy tariff so the car charges on a cheaper overnight rate.

The Result

A tidy, reliable home charge point that fits neatly against the wall near the parking space. The customer now leaves every morning with a full battery and charges on a cheaper overnight rate rather than paying peak prices.

Job Duration: Approximately half a day from survey to testing and handover.
